Supporting healing and transformation

Mirrors of an Identical Wombtwin Survivor

This work in progress is dedicated to still suffering identical wombtwin survivors, who may well identify with the meaning of surviving life, yet experience inner turmoil the likes of which inhibits living life to the fullest. I honor the necessary defense systems that protected us throughout our journeys, yet hopefully through sharing the other side of denial, we can embark on this healing quest together without guilt, shame, blame or judgments.

I feel inspired to share the wounds of identical wombtwin survivors… knowing well the resistance that will be met by well meaning groups and individuals with ingrained belief systems that have all in some way contributed to my own fear of disclosing how being a wombtwin survivor has affected my inner life, as well as my outer life. A deeply felt concern lingers as I write, knowing well, how little effective healing is available to millions of wombtwin survivors all over the world. Yet within these life scripts, lies the experience, strength and hope, that offers a key to healing for all of us, willing to break through the repression, silence, the secrets, the denials, the myths, the illusions, fantasies and realities surrounding wombtwin survivors.

I would like to convey that my main focus here is on anyone involved with wombtwin survivor issues, and in my sharing, might you come to a place of identification rather than comparison. The value of our histories is very important. However, what is most important is our primal pool of ”wounded feelings, which as a humanity is shared by wombtwin survivors of a biological family, any member of a dysfunctional family system and any child who has suffered the effects of addictions in their life. We all have a precious contribution to make in helping to heal the wounds of childhood and humanity as a whole.

This healing quest began by gradually identifying with all the above criteria. I assure you that in sharing my experience, strength and hope with you, the most valuable gift received, was laying bare the wounds of childhood and thus reaching into the beauty of which I was meant to be, and not what for survival I came to be. This journey includes issues of betrayal, abandonment, relinquishment, rejection, loss, anger, identity, trust, self-worth, self-esteem, loyalty, sexuality, intimacy, relationships and most importantly, the rage, the despair, the hopelessness, powerlessness, alienation, loneliness, depression of pre-verbal grief of an identical wombtwin survivorship left unmourned for so many years.

I invite those who wish to challenge the integrity of this journey to ask? Who best represents the realities of wombtwin survivors than those who have lived and worked through the fear of disclosure, confusion, insecurity, secrecy, silence, and most of all the unspoken truth of their own “inner feelings”. Who are the guardians of truth and to whom do we dare offer up our wounded souls to… other than with wounded fellow travelers open and supportive to our healing process. The challenge then becomes raising conscious awareness with a desire for open-mindedness, truth, honesty and an open heart. For those who wish to awaken, welcome aboard. We need you... through this lifelong healing journey.

In Loving Memory to my Identical Wombtwin Norman
