What is your interest in Holotropic Breathwork? (This will be shown on your public profile.)
I went to my first session in January, which was a big step for me in itself. I had no prior knowledge of Stan Grof or his work, but an out of town friend suggested the Seattle workshop may be worth investigating. It turned out to be a powerful experience, and continues to resonate even more as weeks pass. My interest has only begun.

I was raised in upstate NY, lived in Chicago for 14 years, and came to the West coast in '04.
I am a violin maker, currently blocked. I am trying to get past what is holding me back from my craft. I used to be a very creative person in other ways also blocked, which has caused me sadness. However, there are already signs of a shift.
In my current life, I supervise a painting crew and am making plans to re enter school next Fall.
I am lucky to have a few good friends, and I have a strong love of, and fascination for animals. I am blessed with living in a beautiful, natural environment, which I have yet to further explore. Humor is of great importance to me, as is heartily laughing as much as possible.
How has the practice of breathwork affected your life and work? ( This will be shown on your public profile.)
At the end of one session, I was confused by my experience. Something powerful had happened, though I honestly didn't know what until the days and weeks that have followed. The day after the workshop, I had experienced -for the first time in my life- that I have within me the capacity for pure joy, the capacity to be happy. Pretty powerful. Since then, some important events have taken place unexpectedly, and I have been delving deeper into experiencing vivid memories and images from my past. I may be slightly in shock, but know I am on the path to healing. I am confident I will be able to resume the work--all of the work/hobbies I love and miss.

HI Robin,
Thanks for joining the site, and for your interest in Holotropic Breathwork.

If there are things you want to share with others in this online format it could be that you should ask to join the "Sharing Circle" group. The posts there are not visible to the public, and not indexed in search engines. We have also begun to experiment with smaller sharing groups limited to people who already know each other and are already sharing together - like those who have been in a workshop together. These are "invitation only" groups, for example this one. Let me know if you might be interested in starting a group like that.
The process of gradually surfacing the material from a session and working through it, integrating it, is a really important one. You are on the right track focusing on that part of the work.
Good Journey,
Ken
