I googled Csikszentmihalyi and found some youtube videos of him. I found it interesting that he said it's impossible to track more than one conversation at a time--before the concussion of August 4, 2009, I was easily able to track several lines of…

I think that you are really onto something here, to quote you: "The ongoing cycle of self-searching is the main concern of my work..." I will take a look at the Csikszentmihalyi material. I have had in mind that I wanted to work on a book that des…

Aaah, Idries Shah and Rumi. I think I should re-read them both, along with Annie Besant's translation of the Bhagavad Gita. I think I'll go dancing... :-) To complement such readings, you can find, on Netflix, the BBC series called "The Story of I…

Laurane, thanks for sharing this, it really speaks to me. To me, it has the feel of a Sufi love poem.

I really enjoyed reading this. It evokes in me an all-too-familiar sensation of the conscious mind interfering with the beauty of a direct experience of the essential harmony of creation.

I'm not certain what you mean by "creativity vs. authenticity." Sometimes it is useful to explore the origins of words...so I am posting defs from the online Oxford dictionary: authentic • adjective of undisputed origin; genuine. — DERIVATIVES a…

Hi Renn, I'd like to echo Helen's response to your poems. Is it possible to post a recording of some of your songs? I can easily imagine tunes. :-)

Thanks for another beautiful poem. Reading a poem about the mother is especially poignant at this time of year for me, because this is close to the anniversary of my mom's death.

Here are a couple of other books/authors that I like: Self Storage, Gayle Brandeis, and both Hand of the Buddha and Namako, Linda Watanabe McFerrin. I know both writers. :-)

I am still dealing with post-concussion syndrome. I just got back from an appointment today.

For a scientific description of the forces involved when someone is intercepted, head-on, while running fast, and brought to a complete stop, take a look at this article: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC155415/

In a recent article analyzing motorcycle helmets, the point is clearly made that serious head injuries can occur from the force of impact caused by simply falling from eight feet. Here is a quote from MotorcyclistOnline: "going faster when you fall off does not typically result in your helmet taking a harder hit. How can this be? Because the vast majority of head impacts occur when the rider falls off his bike and simply hits his head on the flat road surface. The biggest impact in a given crash will typically happen on that first contact, and the energy is proportional to the height from which the rider falls—not his forward speed at the time."

I was indeed preparing to process some deep stuff, however my process was brought to a complete stop at the moment that I was intercepted as I was running out of the room. The MRI of my brain shows evidence of the concussion that was caused at that moment.

You have only to look at the story of Natasha Richardson to see that people suffering from concussions can have intervals of lucidity.

It was my fervent hope that I would be in the position of assisting other people in their healing from deep trauma, as a way of giving back. I am certain that there will be a way. :-)

Hey Elisa...sorry that I didn't get back to you. Just been really busy. I'm off to Joshua Tree next week to do the last required module. Hope all is ok for you now. Just to note, I couldn't help feeling that your lastest story with HB was similar to your near death as a child....I saw some similarities between both stories you shared and especially as you were in the middle of a HB experience it would seem plausible that in some way you were reliving it. Wishing you well, and a good happy and healthy 2010 - Lindsey

Hey Elisa! How are you?? I'm doing well ...enjoying the last of the summer days in Vienna. HB in the UK was intense but good. I feel that I'm now reaping the benefits of the last six modules! Hope all is well with you. Take care,
