The International HOLOTROPIC ART Association (www.holotropic.eu) and 3D ARTE Association Romania (www.3darte.ro) organizes the International Symposium of Holotropic Art 2011 which aims to promote the holotropic art and to discover and promote the most talented, authentic and valuable artists of the moment. (The holotropic art is characterized by the firm line and the accuracy of form, through the purity of colours and the toughness of contrasts, realized in a manner which is supposed to produce into the watcher modified consciousness states of mind).
The symposium addresses to all the artists who adhere to the ideology developed by The International HOLOTROPIC ART Association and, implicitely, to the Manifest of Holotropism (http://holotropic.eu/holotropic.htm). Through this symposium, the organizers wish to also accomplish an identification of the complex painters and artists who have polivalent artistic activities, those artists who paint, but at the same time write music or poetry, play a musical instrument or who can work in more than one field of art.
In order to participate in the symposium, the artists will receive by mail a CD with holotropic music especially written for this event (The holotropic music aims to produce in the listener`s mind modified consciousness states; serene, monotonous, obsessive musical passages, along with tough, atonal, strident sounds). Following the audition of this CD the artists will have to realize 1, maximum 2 paintings which will enter the symposium. After the realization of these works, the artists will send, by September, 15, 2011, pictures with high resolution (E.g.: 3000 x 2500 pixels) to the e-mail address of the symposium: firstname.lastname@example.org). The holotropic music can be also downloaded from: http://holotropic.eu/music.htm.
Besides the works, the artists are asked to write in word format (doc. file) a summary of the experiences they had as following the audition of the CD and the connection they felt between the receptive-auditive act and the creative-artistic act. It is also important the correct and accurate catching and the consciousness of the mood and emotions they had as well as the detailed description of the way they transposed into of the music the accomplished work of art and of the way in which the artist considers that his work can send to the watcher modified conscieousness states.
As following the on-line selection, the artists will send the selected works to the address of the 3D ARTE Association (3D ARTE, Str. Calea Galata nr. 20, Bl. E2B, Sc. B, Et. 3, Ap. 1, Iasi, 700626, Romania), due date September, 30, 2011.
The paintings will be made on canvas or cardboard (in acrylic colours, oil or tempera, collage, mixted techniques) and the widest side will not have to be larger than 120 cm. Works made on other support as wood or metal will not be accepted.
Artists considered eligible to enter in selection for the symposium are those who will send by e-mail the following scanned documents:
