Kenneth
(Ken) Edwin Sloan was born in 1946 in Decatur, Texas, USA.
He has been Executive Director of AHBI since January of 2010, and
has responsibility for day-to-day operations and projects at AHBI.
He has been a member of AHBI since 1990 and served as Secretary of
AHBI from 2004 through October of 2008, then as President until the
end of 2009. Ken was certified for Holotropic Breathwork
facilitation in 1997 and lives in Steinen, Germany, in the
southwest corner of the Black Forest with his partner Petra, their
two daughters, and Nemo the dog. Since 1998 Ken and Petra (who is
also certified in Holotropic Breathwork) have given regular
residential Holotropic Breathwork weekend workshops and sometimes
longer retreats in their home which doubles as a Buddhist retreat
center. Ken and Petra have been trained and certified by Albrecht
Mahr (Institute for Systemic and Integrative Solutions in
Wuerzburg, Germany) to lead systems constellations. They offer
systemic constellation workshops in Germany and Switzerland focused
on the relationship between people and nature as well as sometimes
using systemic constellations as a support for integration after
Holotropic Breathwork.
Alysson
Troffer began her tenure as editor of The Inner Door in
June 2007. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychobiology from
Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in
English from Northern Arizona University. She is certified in
Integrative Breathwork (a technique similar to Holotropic
Breathwork) and is seeking certification in Holotropic Breathwork
through Grof Transpersonal Training. Alysson is also certified in
Somatic Archaeology, which involves unearthing and healing the
history in the body. As with both techniques of breathwork, Somatic
Archaeology accesses non-ordinary states of consciousness for the
purpose of healing. During her day job, Alysson is a technical
editor at Oracle, where she edits software documentation. She lives
with her husband, Tim, and their German Shepherd, Chili, in the
foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains at the gloriously high
altitude of 9,100 feet.
Brian
Bauer has been participating in Holotropic Breathwork since
1997 and has completed several training modules. He is responsible
for the AHBI Office including AHBI membership, renewals, payment
processing and printing and shipping of the Inner Door journal.
Since the new online community has become available Brian has been
playing a key roll in keeping the community supported. Brian is a
Reiki Master Teacher, mentored by John Harvey Gray, the
longest-practicing Reiki Master in the West; and a meditation
instructor in Transcendental Medtitation and Vipassana. He
regularly assists in Holotropic Breathwork workshops in New
England. He prefers red wines, men with mustaches, Macintosh
computers, quirky independent movies and science fiction. He lives
in Somerville, Mass.
