Music anyone?

Listening to and selecting good music for breathwork can be immensely rewarding in itself. The more ideas and options we have opens up a wider universe of sounds and experiences. Towards this goal Ed started Music for Breathwork in 2009 to share ideas and add to the wealth of possibilities.

In August 2011 we changed the group ownership to an RVA (Revolving Virtual Avatar) with various guest facilitators supporting the group.

I am just beginning to use HB in workshops after taking several years off. I am interested in some of the recent music people have found, is there a place where people talk about the tracks they like best?
Thanks,

Linda

Hi,

I know a lot of people like to gather music but have a hard time actually mixing up a set. If you need help with this, I can help you find the tools that will help you. I can also completely mix it for you, if technology really is not your thing.

Also, if you are looking at eventual certification as a HB facilitator, I cannot approve your music set, but I can give you pretty decent feedback on it.

Just send me a message if you need any help.

Cheers !

Alain

can not understand, how to play... why it is soooo complicated???

Ronald...

To play FLAC, I use XMMS with the FLAC plugin on FreeBSD.

Hope this helps.

Joe - what are you using FLAC with? I tried it when I first read about it - I use Banshee on Ubuntu, and it seemed to lock it up pretty regularly.

Re: "Why MP3s Sound Bad...":

It's nice that FLAC is mentioned. I use it for all of my encoding.

I can reduce a 600 MB CD to about 200 MB, give or take, depending on the music.

Thelonious Monk Live at the 1964 Monterey Jazz_Festival, WAV: 597M total

FLAC: 237M  total

The Rough Guide To The Music Of Okinawa, WAV: 778M total

FLAC: 432M    total

An bonus is that since FLAC is lossless, I can always regain the WAV file by decoding the FLAC.

The only thing it doesn't solve is my CD storage problem.

Check out my new track, featuring some samples of the spiritual teacher Mooji:

You Are the Seer of Everything'

If anyone would like to use any of my music in their holotropic sets, please let me know and I'll send you some high quality versions.

Hiya

I am new to this network but into Breathwork music since 15+ years. Always on the lookout for new music.

Have read most your comments and already learned heaps about the technical aspect. I still work from CD's, lists and a Dual Mixer but everytime evolves new according to the needs of the  group or the breather. A bit work intensive but always on the spot. Looking forward to share in future

to Martine (15 hours ago) - it's a little tricky selling sets due to copyright issues, but I'm sure I can help you get good music for your workshops.  Can you email me directly at tarisk@aol.com?  Thanks.
