I hope this is where I should leave a comment; it says "Reply to This" as a header.

When I applied to join the "Sharing Circle" the lead-in said I should click on the "Group Title". However the blue/active line said, if I remember correctly, "click here to join group". It worked fine, but getting to it was somewhat misleading.

Also, the button at the bottom was a very dark blue, making the dark wording quite illegible. The "Add Reply" button I will now press is far more legible.

Hi Oliver. There is not much I can do about the group joining mechanics. Luckily most groups will not be invitation only but anyone can join.

I am still working with the button visibility problem.

The two Omega videos of Stan opened fast and fine. However, Marty's Becoming Me and The Jill Bolte video took forever.

Thanks for the comments. The download time is pretty much a function of the sites where the videos are actually stored, not the ning site, and how busy they are. So it will very.

The Stan videos are hosted on You-Tube, so that may be a good place for us to have videos if it is consistently faster.

I may be missing something big-time, but I find the header "Reply to This", above this box very odd. I'm writing something, right, not replying?

The comment "reply to this, means that you are writing in response to what appears directly above you. If you want to write something that is not a reply to something already written then you should start a new discussion, using the QUICK ADD box at the top right of almost every page, or the +ADD A DISCUSSION link at the top of most discussion pages.

I just responded to Laura Beann and when I pressed the comment button another box, red, said there had been an error. However, my message to Laura was recorded fine; this happened last night also.

Hi Oliver,
Normally the red box THERE HAS BEEN AN ERROR happens when you try to send something but there is no message text in the box. Thiis could happen if you pressed it twice. Could that be what is happening?

Any way to set the time to the member's local time zone?

Hi Brian,
there is certainly a "Network time" for events, that is set to the Networks time. But when the platform displays information about a date/time it should definitely convert that to your local time, as determined by the time zone setting on your computer.
I have sent Ning support a help ticket on this to find out if there are any known issues. Also are you a MAC when you see this?

And the BAD NEWS is here: Ning support confirms that the date/time shown on our community are all based on the "Network Time Zone" which is set to Western Europe. The only thing you can trust (unless you live in Western Europe) is "...13 minutes ago" and so forth - that is, relative time.

This is really a sad state of affairs, since they could simply put a "my time zone" field for each member (or get it off the computer the person is connected with), and display absolute time like days and TOD in local terms.

I have complained big time, but so far they have not even said it is in the roadmap.

I am thinking of changing the time to GMT as the lowest common denominator, What do you think of that?
