Psychological trauma underlies a lot of problems in the world we're facing now. "Trauma is the most avoided, ignored, belittled, denied, misunderstood and untreated cause of human suffering" (Peter A. Levine, Ph.D.). Traditional mainstream psychiatry had chosen to view it as an incurable disease only marginally controlled by drugs. Just within the last decade, psychotherapy made a major breakthrough in trauma treatment. For us who practice Holotropic Breathwork a bit longer, it's a great satisfaction to see that major Grofian ideas are validated now by neuroscience as well as by dedicated work of gifted psychotherapists developing body-oriented, mindfulness-based approaches, moving ever closer to the perinatal and transpersonal roots of trauma discovered by Stanislav Grof 50 years ago. We will touch base with those recent discoveries of the modern leaders in the field of trauma treatment. And in the light of it, will take a deeper look at the mechanisms of trauma as well as how trauma affects our body, psyche, spirit, behavior, relationships if left untreated. We'll explore methods that would help to prevent severe consequences of trauma, like PTSD, for ourselves and people around us.
The main modality of this workshop is Holotropic Breathwork™as an extraordinary powerful method that allows to address the deepest roots of our wounds – those roots of which psychoanalysis had no idea about and which are simply inaccessible by the "talk" therapy. Since Holotropic Breathwork is not meant for using it on your own, some tools will be offered for your individual healing practices.
Although this workshop might be informative for helping professionals who can relate, in a way, to the archetype of the Wounded Healer, it's not intended to be educational. In its essence, it's highly experiential workshop. And please know that it's not about "digging out" your traumas – It might be totally joyful, ecstatic spiritual experience. Whatever your Inner Healer brings up – it's always the most relevant thing at any given moment. It's a gentle, compassionate and empowering work based on trust and unconditional support with no agenda. The tribal spirit of fellow seekers, an ample container for the energy and the story, deep listening to the sharing with no judgments and interpretations -- all that has a healing power on its own. This is all an essential setting to dive deep and to get to know your own Inner Healer.
Grof-certified facilitators Tasha Tarnovskaya and Vaidas Butauskas hold a safe, loving, agenda-free space, meeting you wherever you are on your inner journey. They invite you to this adventure to be fully you and to rest in the warmth of presence among like-minded fellow travelers.
