Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful method of self-exploration, personal transformation, and healing. The work is of value to persons interested in deep inner exploration, self-knowledge, wellness, creativity, and spiritual awareness. It is an excellent experiential adjunct to psychotherapy, as well as a powerful method of self-care for helping professionals. HOLOTROPIC (derived from the Greek holos and trepein) means “moving toward wholeness.” The work was developed by Stanislav Grof, MD and Christina Grof, leading pioneers in the field of transpersonal psychology. It is based on insights from modern consciousness research, depth psychology, and various spiritual practices. A highly experiential method, Holotropic Breathwork combines enhanced breathing, evocative music, focused release work, art, and group sharing to access the intrinsic wisdom of the body/psyche/spirit. By activating the unconscious and mobilizing blocked energies, Holotropic Breathwork mediates access to all levels of human experience including unfinished issues from our post-natal biography, traumatic physical or emotional events, perinatal memories, and a variety of transpersonal experiences. Participants have discovered that the process can sometimes facilitate a dramatic release of blocked feelings and memories, thereby promoting new levels of mind-body integration.

Diane Haug, M.A., LPCC is a licensed mental health professional and certified practitioner of Holotropic Breathwork™. As a senior member of the Grof Transpersonal Training staff, she has been involved with workshops and professional trainings throughout the world including Scandinavia, South America, Russia, Italy, and Spain. She is currently an adjunct faculty member of Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Diane will be assisted by Pam Stockton, who was certified as a Holotropic Breathwork practitioner by Grof Transpersonal Training in 2009. Pam is currently a student in the counseling program at Houston Graduate School of Theology, and a past-President of Brigid’s Place.

Bear Creek Tree Farm is a beautiful oasis of peace and green, towering trees, located in West Houston. The registration fee includes overnight accommodations on Friday and Saturday, three meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.
