With the apparent beautiful gifts and benefits of digital technologies, inevitable side effects came along. Spiritual practices present a serious alternative counteracting these adversities -- both apparent and those which are often left unrecognized or even denied. It includes but is not limited to addiction, a newly discovered syndrome of FOMO (fear of missing out), a decrease of attention and memory qualities, mental hoarding and more. Spiritual practices counteract distraction by training focus and concentration; instead of conditioned reactivity they teach mindfulness and pausing to make a responsible choice; instead of dwelling in negativity they train resilience; instead of multitasking they train focus, instead of bypassing and escapism -- they return us to ourselves, show the way to listen to our heart and body, to cultivate presence -- with ourselves, people around us, Nature. Backed up by recent neuroscience discoveries involving mindfulness practices research, we will address common issues caused by spending too much time with gadgets.
Besides four sessions of Holotropic Breathwork (two for each participant in the role of a breather and two as a sitter), the purpose of the retreat will be supported by meditation (Mindfulness and Loving-kindness meditation), walks in Nature, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra, practices of Self-compassion, and more.
With a free Introductory talk on April 27, 2018, retreat itself will take place on April 29 - May 1, 2018.
